The word worship comes from the Old English worðscip, meaning “condition of being worthy, dignity, glory, distinction, honor, renown”. We join together on Sunday mornings, then, to shape what is most worthy or create meaning, together.

Our worship services are weekly reflections that weave together our own thoughts and experiences with music, beauty, movement, and words that both comfort and challenge. Our programs for all ages inspire and awaken us to our capacities to make a difference in our own lives, the lives of others, and the world.

We are inspired not just by religious sources but by the people with whom we journey: the diverse and spirited Unitarian Universalists. Connect with us to join in!

We, in our Unitarian Universalists worship, strive for an inclusive and inspiring experience that fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility towards the world. We are embracing of many beliefs, welcoming of all genders and sexual orientations, and accessible to people of all abilities.

UPCOMING SERVICES

May 19th: “Caring for Each Other: Community Support for Our Whole Lives”

Speaker: Rev. Kristina Church

All of our lives, we are in need. All of our lives, we have something to offer one another. Karen Adams of Julia Hospice will share information about new options available in Erie for end-of-life care. How can we, as a faith community, support each other through all life’s passages?

May 26th: “Unitarian Universalism and Pluralism”

Speaker: Melissa Jeter

If it is false that UU’s can “believe” whatever we want, then how does Unitarian Universalism reveal the value of pluralism? Unitarian Universalism is rooted in Christianity and early Christian fathers conceptualized religion by defining and identifying what was considered a heresy. Given this exclusive practice, the Unitarians who traveled to what would be the United States wanted more freedom to practice Christianity as they saw fit. Now, many of us may practice or have curiosity about different faiths, have reasonable approaches to the way to live life, refer to conventional ways from familial ancestors or find spirituality from the earth or consume information from popular culture. How do UU’s embrace pluralism? How do we side with love in a way that matters?
